First appointment

The Ordres des Dentistes de Quebec and the CDA recommend that parents bring their kids in between 6 months and a year of life. Bringing your baby in at this age will set a lifetime of healthy oral care in motion.

Preventative Measures

In addition to the regular examinations and cleaning appointment, young teeth need additional protection. Ask us if your child could benefit from these preventative procedures:

Fluoride

Fluoride can be found in different sources such as water, toothpaste, gels, rinses, tablets and varnish. When applied to the tooth surface, it will help to keep our teeth strong. Fluoride treatments are comfortable and entirely pain-free. We recommend fluoride treatments twice a year along with cleanings to keep teeth their strongest.

Sealants

For additional cavity protection, your child might benefit from sealants. Sealants fill in the grooves and crevices on the surfaces of teeth that could otherwise become cavities. Their application is  fast, comfortable and completely painless.

To prepare for your child's visit, we have created an activity kit to familiarize your child with their teeth and help them look forward to their dental visit.
